SUMMER carnivals have been very much missed on the Isle of Wight this year, but Sandown Carnival Association ensured an event could still go ahead.
They launched a virtual carnival in July, giving entrants the chance to win £50 by sending in a fancy dress photo.

The committee voted for the prizewinners in three categories last month — children, adults, and groups.
Children's winner was Isabella Pedreschi, four, as Rapunzel, with a home-made carnival float.
William Bremner won the adult section and Sandown Green Town Volunteers won best group.
Paul Coueslant, chair of the carnival committee, said: "We had some great entries and any one of a number of really lovely photos might have won in the popular children’s category.
"We’re now hoping very much that we can welcome back Sandown’s Carnival and Regatta events for 2022, starting with the town’s New Year’s Day fireworks in January."
