THE Isle of Wight's Covid rolling rate is now at 551.7 in another rise today.

While five days behind the daily data, the figure, per 100,000 of population, is far higher than the UK rate of 372.6.

Today, Public Health England data shows a further 115 reported cases on the Island, which takes the cumulative total to 13,406.

The age group most affected is still the ten to 14 year olds, which has a rolling rate of 2,934.7. The rate for this age group is significantly higher than the next highest, five to nine year olds, on 1,189.2.

Covid vaccinations have been rolling out across Island schools in the last fortnight but only children aged 12 or over are eligible, and must also consent to the jab.

The data showing the number of people in St Mary's Hospital with Covid is only updated on a weekly basis, but as of last Tuesday, there were 19.

The latest data also showed some Covid deaths, with three people dying with Covid within the community (ie not in hospital) and one person in St Mary's.
