It means two ice rinks will be available to Islanders in the build-up to Christmas.

In Newport, on November 20 in St Thomas' Square, Newport and Carisbrooke Community Council (NCCC) is presenting a Day of Christmas.

The family-friendly event will include a free outdoor ice skating rink and disco, complete with music, performances and entertainment.
