COVID rates have continued to rise among the Isle of Wight's child population, the latest data shows.

The Island's Covid rolling rate is now at 494.0 — nearly 150 above the UK average of 348.4.

Children are the most affected, with the government heatmap showing rates among ten to 14 year olds at an astonishing rate of 2,907.3 as of September 30.

Yesterday, that figure stood at 2,591.9.

The second most affected age group is 15 to 19 year olds, with a rolling rate of 1,369.9.

The rolling rate is per 100,000 of population and is always five days behind.

A further 109 cases of Covid-19 were recorded today (Monday).

It takes the cumulative total of Island cases to 12,478 since the pandemic began.
