WOOTTON Bridge is set to beat the Autumn blues with a one-off community festival — Bridgefest.

Organised for Saturday, September 25, 12 hours of entertainment will take place at five venues — Briddlesford Farm - Bluebell Café, The Cedars, The Sloop, The Woodman’s Arms and Wootton Bridge Community Centre.

The venues will be offering a mix of food, drink, music, and other entertainment, starting with breakfast, and ending with late-night music.

Covid-19 meant other events such as Party in the Park and Beer and Buses had to cancel in 2021, but Bridgefest aims to give locals something to be cheery about at the end of a difficult summer season on the Island.

A shuttle bus service will operate between the venues. Participants need to purchase a programme to use it. Priority bus tickets are also available.

Festival organiser Daryll Pitcher said: “This is about giving our local venues a fillip at the end of a very challenging period for them.

“It is also about giving the people of Wootton Bridge and others further afield the chance to let their hair down for the first time in a long time.”

Programmes are available for £2 and Priority Bus Tickets for £5, both available to purchase from participating venues.
