Engineers at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust are working to fix two X-ray machines after they broke yesterday (Monday).

The Newport NHS site has warned Islanders with non-urgent appointments to stay home, 'due to unforeseen circumstances'.

In a statement to the County Press today (Tuesday), the trust said: "We can confirm that two of our x-ray machines are still out of order.

"Engineers are onsite to diagnose the problem and rectify the issues.

"Essential services are being maintained through our other equipment and appointments and clinics have not been affected.

"However, we advise people to not to attend the walk-in service at the moment unless urgent."

It has thanked patients for their understanding.
