The number of patients in hospital with Covid-19 on the Isle of Wight has risen and so has the number of patients in specialist ventilation beds.

Data recorded on Tuesday, August 31 (and just published) shows 23 people with coronavirus were being treated at St Mary's Hospital - up six from the previous week.

The hospital had five patients in ventilation beds, but the previous Tuesday (August 24) recorded three patients who needed the equipment.

In the last fortnight, two people have died at St Mary's Hospital after contracting Covid-19.

The number of cases being recorded daily has been falling, but today (Thursday), 106 new cases were added to the Isle of Wight's overall total.
