Yesterday, in the seven days to August 19, that figure stood at 437.1.

It remains well above the UK rate, which was 339.3 today — up from 334.4 yesterday.

Meanwhile, a new Covid-19 death has been recorded at St Mary's Hospital in Newport.

A person died at the Isle of Wight's hospital on Monday, meaning there have now been 158 Covid-related deaths in hospital here since the start of the pandemic.

St Mary's Hospital has closed its wards to visitors, due to rising numbers of people with Covid in hospital.

At the last update, there were nine patients with Covid at St Mary's but this data is only updated once a week and also has a time lag.
