Footpaths across Island Line's train tacks have all now reopened, according to the Isle of Wight Council.

Franchise holder South Western Railway had previously reopened two paths across the tracks.

As previously reported by the County Press, they were all shut suddenly in July, due to safety concerns over testing of the new trains.

Meanwhile, there is no date yet for when the trains themselves will be able to take passengers.

Problems with Covid-19, Brexit hold ups, operating software and more recently, significant flooding have all been blamed for the delay.

The line shut in January for an overhaul and was supposed to reopen in the spring.
