A CHARITY fun race raised £555 for WetWheels and proved to be a riot of colour.

On Wednesday, August 4, ten boats took part in the Royal Solent Yacht Club’s Fandango Charity Fun Race, sponsored by Harwoods.

The Fandango was started in the 1990s by RSYC members and former owners of Harwoods, Kit and Sue Robinson, and craft of any shape or size can enter.

This year’s race winners were Miles Norris and Charlie Anderson in their hippy themed dinghy Peace and Laser.

Second was Miles’s wife Caroline Norris and her team of colourful kayakers The Fandango Tutu Girls.

A spokesperson for the event said: "It was a great turnout and fun atmosphere, so thanks and well done to all those who took part and made such a brilliant effort with their fancy dress."
