A WOMAN who was charged with two counts of arson following a garage fire has had no evidence offered against her.

Recorder Malcolm Gibney formally recorded two not guilty verdicts against Lindsey Collins at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Thursday, on the request of the Crown Prosecution Service.

The 39-year-old, from Shanklin, had been charged with arson after fire broke out in a garage in Spring Gardens, Ventnor, on February 20.

A huge multi-agency response saw four fire engines, police and ambulance at the scene.

Collins was treated outside the garage for smoke inhalation and was taken to St Mary's Hospital in an ambulance, and was later charged with starting the fire.
