A GODSHILL road was more like a river when the rainfall hit overnight and yesterday.

School Crescent has suffered flooding five times in the last couple of months, according to resident Alan Howard, who says the road has been 'neglected'.

He sent pictures and video to the County Press in frustration, showing the devastation yesterday, and said the situation worsened overnight after the latest downpour.

He said a neighbour has suffered flooding to her property.

He has been in contact with Southern Water over the situation, and he said residents of the road have concerns about additional homebuilding in the area, and the impact this may have on the drainage.

He said raw sewage has got into houses and the Tarmac is now lifting off the road, leaving cracks in the road surface.

The County Press has asked the Isle of Wight Council and Southern Water for a statement on the situation in School Crescent.
