FURTHER cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed on the Isle of Wight, according to the latest data.

Public Health England figures released today (Monday) show 49 new cases.

A total of 44 were added yesterday, and 46 the day before, albeit delayed.

It means the total number of Isle of Wight cases, since the start of the pandemic, now stands at 7,854.

The rolling rate per 100,000 people, in the seven days to July 21, was 301.9 ­— down from yesterday's figure of 307.5.

The UK's rolling rate, meanwhile, was 461.9.
