POLICE arrested four men following a public order incident in Ryde Saturday evening.

Officers investigating the incident outside the Pavilion Bar have since charged two men, while two others have been released with no further action taken.

Nino Bear Cavanagh, 28, of Kestrel Way, Carisbrooke, has been charged with affray and using threatening/abusive/insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence.

Scott Edward Cooper, 32, of no fixed abode, has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker and possession of a Class B drug.

Both men appeared at Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court this morning (Monday).

A 27-year-old man from Ryde was also arrested on suspicion of affray and theft in connection with this incident, and a 26-year-old man from Wootton was similarly arrested on suspicion of affray.

They have both been released from police custody with no further action being taken against them.
