THE Isle of Wight has now recorded more than 7,800 Covid cases since the start of the pandemic last year.

Yesterday's delayed Public Health England figures released earlier today (Sunday), showed an additional 46 cases, with today's update adding another 44.

It means the total number of cases now stands at 7,805.

The rolling rate, which is five days behind, locally stands at 307.5 and is now 490.5 across the UK.

Last Sunday's total — the figure as of July 18 — stood at 7,430. That means a rise of 375 cases this week.
