BEMBRIDGE Coastguard Rescue Team were re-tasked to a stricken vessel this afternoon (Thursday) — after its occupants ignored safety advice and returned to sea.
At 5.15pm, the Bembridge team returned to Bembridge Harbour and rendezvoused with Bembridge RNLI.
The coastguard team said a vessel which had previously been towed to safety after taking on water ignored their safety advice and again went to sea.
At approximately 4pm, Bembridge RNLI responded to a Mayday distress signal and brought the vessel ashore with two people on board.
This time, it ran aground in the harbour channel.
Police assistance was requested.
