A WIDESPREAD search has been taking place across Ventnor tonight after a man went missing.
The National Police Air Service helicopter has been circling the town as the light went down and into the evening.
On land, police officers and Wight Search and Rescue (WightSAR) volunteers have been out searching too.
We have asked Hampshire Constabulary for an update.

UPDATE: Thursday 6.30am: The missing person has been located. They were found injured and in need of medical treatment and have been taken to hospital.
