BALLETWORKS has thought outside the box to bring a charity event to the Island this year, despite recent restrictions.

Island-based BalletWorks has successfully collaborated with dancers and artists from some of the world's leading dance companies and this year is offering a unique opportunity for people to enjoy all things dance while raising vital funds for Mountbatten.

In August, BalletWorks will be hosting an evening of entertainment, but instead of the usual live show, audiences can enjoy seeing the dancers in action via film.

The evening will involve artists of various dance disciplines from all over the world performing works through specially pre-recorded dance films.

Creative director Robert Robinson said: "Over the years BalletWorks has supported Mountbatten raising over £20,000.

"Despite the pandemic we wanted to continue to play our part by raising as much money for Mountbatten as possible, to ensure it can continue to provide care for their patients and staff.

“As it was still unclear when we will be able to organise live performances again, it was time we thought outside of the box.

"For many this is a troubling time and for us it’s important we raise money for the Mountbatten Hospice and support our local community on the Isle of Wight.”
