Cars hitting a dead end on Trafalgar Road.
MOTORISTS are being reminded that New Street in Newport is temporarily closed for Southern Water repairs.
A stream of vehicles have been spotted heading down Trafalgar Road despite warning signs.
At the end of the road they are faced with a No Entry sign, and a closed New Street. Cars are having to U-turn to get back out again.
A County Press reader said: "I phoned to tell Island Roads and they said the signs are in place to warn motorists."
The County Press has asked Island Roads for clarification of the situation.
UPDATE 3.45pm: Southern Water is going to put additional signage out for motorists.
