FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire in the open near a trainline in Ashey this afternoon (Wednesday).
At around 1pm, a single fire crew from Ryde was called to the scene near the former Ponda Rosa restaurant.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue sent the crew in response to a report of a fire on an embankment.
Firefighters used beaters to put out the fire and stood down at 1.20pm.
