ROBIN Hill provided the lush setting for an eclectic three-day event which brought laughter, 'chillaxation' and up-tempo nostalgia to the country park.

The inaugural Woodland Sessions event took place from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 July.

Night one saw a host of international comedians, with the likes of Rich Hall, Seann Walsh, and Maisie Adam and Tom Allen delighting a sell-out audience relishing the prospect of live entertainment.

Saturday closed with a Rhythm of the 90s party, which saw decades old fashion faux-pas and hit songs dusted off for the pleasure of an enthusiastic throng.

Sandwiched between those evenings was a Friday night delight courtesy of the effortlessly beguiling Katie Melua, a singer-songwriter whose eight studio albums have all reached the UK top ten, with two slipping into the coveted number one slot.

Keith Penny, founder of events company '....Withadifference' organised the Woodland Sessions in conjunction with park manager James Crofts.

Keith said: "Since Bestival left Robin Hill I've been looking to do an event and thankfully James and his team bought into it.

"We see it as an event which can flex between different genres. The site is so versatile that I think we can do an awful lot of good stuff here.

"The three nights have seen beautiful scenery, stunning weather and amazing talent. This is the perfect antidote to the stresses of the past 17 months or so."

Each night also included an after party, with a DJ set in the woods for revellers wanting to stay out a little later.

Keith says he hopes to be involved with further Woodland Sessions at the park in the future, with the enduring intention of showcasing different genres and themes on each of the days.
