Red Funnel is running with a host of pre-planned cancellations today (Tuesday), as it tries to protect its busy weekend crossings.

It announced its plans last week, because about a third of its staff were self-isolating due to Covid Test and Trace, while scores more job vacancies remain unfilled.

From today (Tuesday) until Thursday, the following sailings have been scrapped:

  • Departures from Southampton: 0500, 0800, 1100, 1400, 1700 and 2100.
  • Departures from East Cowes: 0630, 0930, 1230, 1530, 1830 and 2230.

The same will be true next week, between Tuesday and Thursday, which is also the first week of the school summer holidays.

The freight ferry, Red Kestrel, will remain in service, with a change to its schedule.

Sailings leave 34 minutes later (Southampton at 0459, 0759, 1059 and East Cowes at 0629, 0929 and 1229).

If your sailing has been cancelled, you should have received an email, or text, with a new departure time.

That new crossing will need to be verified, said the operator.
