THE popular Isle of Wight Arts Open Studios is back despite the challenges of the Covid pandemic — starting today (Friday, July 16).

Running until July 26, the free event gives people the chance to meet artists in their own workshops and studios.

One of the organisers, Rob Hawker, said: "Many artists and craft makers were keen to take part and it was vital to keep this popular event in the mind of the public, as confirmed by subsequent feedback.

"A number of artists chose to miss this year, but with new artists, we still have nearly 100 taking part.

"The event is popular well beyond the Island, and we hope many of our regular visitors can return and help our Island economy."

An accompanying yearbook, free of charge, has been designed by Pepper Creative, showing the artists' entries.

Supported by Island businesses, such as Red Funnel and A.J.Wells, Readers and Available Light,

the yearbook is a guide to the artists participating in studios and venues across the Island.

Yearbooks can be obtained by post, by emailing your details to info@isleofwightarts.com or it can be downloaded from isleofwightarts.com

They will also be stocked in libraries, tourist information outlets, Quay Arts, and many book and art shops.
