MORE cancellations have been announced by Red Funnel, for their East Cowes to Southampton vehicle ferry service.

The service has already seen sailings cut today (Tuesday) and ran with delays on Monday.

The cross-Solent ferry operator has now announced services will be reduced over the next two days (Wednesday, July 14 and Thursday, July 15).

It is pulling the following sailings from service — 0500, 0800, 1100, 1400, 1700 and 2100 from Southampton and 0630, 0930, 1230, 1530, 1830 and 2230 from Cowes.

Red Funnel is blaming "a critical staff availability across our operation" and apologised for the inconvenience caused.

All passengers booked on one of the cancelled sailings have been contacted and asked to review the options for an alternative sailing time. There is no need to pre-book another sailing, but passengers are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled sailing and show their original e-ticket upon arrival.

Meanwhile, Wightlink's flagship Victoria of Wight is back in operation, after a few weeks out of service and resulting inconvenience to customers on the Fishbourne to Portsmouth route.
