PICTURES Three homes flooded in Isle of Wight's Brighstone

Flash flooding left three properties near the Blanchards development inundated.

A yellow weather warning for heavy rain had earlier been issued by the Met Office.

On Monday, homeowners in Casses Court watched water running off the fields and into their properties.

The main road through the village was also flooded for a time, and one resident was forced to wade through knee-deep water to return home.

A flood alert is in force for the Eastern Yar this morning, after more than half a month’s rain (27mm) was recorded at Wroxall in just 24 hours.

Flooding was expected at Alverstone and Langbridge, however property was not expected to be hit.
