SHANKLIN Theatre's summer show can't go ahead this week — as several cast members have been contacted by Covid Track and Trace and told to self isolate.

Spotlight IOW, who put on Beyond the West End every Thursday, can't perform the show this week (July 15).

The show launched on July 1 and was reviewed by the County Press.

A statement from the Spotlight team said: "Unfortunately, despite extremely robust measures being in place within our work space, some members within the Spotlight company have been contacted by NHS Track and Trace and are required to self isolate.

"We want to reassure all of our audiences that due to the strict processes we have in place at Shanklin Theatre, we are confident we have adhered to all the required health and safety requirements.

"Under current government guidance, those who test positive for Covid-19, or who have been in close contact with someone who has, must self-isolate.

"The safety of our customers remains our number one priority. Everyone at both Spotlight and Shanklin Theatre are so sorry that this means this week's performance of Beyond the West End (Thursday, July 16) cannot go ahead.

"All pre paid tickets will be offered an alternative date or a full refund. Shanklin Theatre will contact customers in due course."
