AN ISLE of Wight based jazz saxophonist is releasing his debut EP later this summer after writing and recording the eight-track album.

Benedict Branca's self-titled EP will be available to purchase on CD and vinyl, while also possible to view on his YouTube channel.

The EP was recorded in a single day at Chale Abbey Studios by David Granshaw and was performed entirely by Island musicians.

Benedict plays alto saxophone, Mark Chettle piano, Jon Thorne double bass and Chris Jones is on drums.

Benedict said: "I have just completed my master’s degree in Music Industry Innovation and Enterprise with Platform One College.

"The college has supported me with this venture due to my continuous dedication and production of high-quality work.

"My innovation module received the highest distinction ever awarded to a master’s degree student for an assessment at Platform One College, which I'm proud of.

"I would love for people to listen to the EP and enjoy original jazz music coming out of the Isle of Wight."
