JUBILANT Islanders got coveted seats at Wembley last night to see their dream come true and England get through to the final of the Euros.

Football fan Ross Gregory, 35, has waited all his life for this moment, and was there with wife Cara and friends.

He said: "Last night the atmosphere was insane, part of England's history. There were eight of us from the Island and we have waited all our lives to see it.

"It really was a dream come true for me and many others."

He is now desperately trying to get a ticket for Sunday night's final.

He said: "I reckon England will win, hopefully Kane can grab the golden boot. I predict another 2:1 to England.

"If I can't get tickets for the game I'll come up to London for the bus parade afterwards."

Ross, who always strives to see England play wherever they are in the world, had the Euros all planned, and was ready to go to Dublin and then Rome, but Covid put paid to it.

However, he was among a group of 14 Islanders to get to Wembley, to see England beat Germany to reach the quarter finals, which he described as "the best atmosphere you can possibly imagine as a football fan."
