A NIGHT of sporting destiny will see Isle of Wight bars and venues packed, and people sat home shouting at their television screens.

England, without a major international football trophy since the famous World Cup win of 1966, take on a Danish side, who upset the odds to Euro 1992, for a place in the final of the European Championships against Italy.

Both remaining matches at the tournament - the only major international competition with no third/fourth place playoff - will be played at Wembley, giving the home side a distinct advantage in times of pandemic.

Raheem Sterling has been England's golden boy with three goals and an assist, but it is the return to form of skipper Harry Kane which perhaps gives the most cause for optimism.

Having failed to net in any of the three group games, Kane has subsequently notched three goals in two matches to belatedly place himself among the Euro 2020 golden boot contenders.

Will you be wearing any exciting face paint, filling your home with flags or wearing your Euro '96 England shirt while Baddiel and Skinner screech out Three Lions with the volume turned up to eleven?
