A BOATLOAD of classic cars are on show as part of Cowes Classics Week.

Today only (Tuesday), you can head over to Cowes Parade and see a huge number classic yachts joined by 40 or more vintage cars.

You can also see exhibits sourced by the Classic Boat Museum, and a Second World War motor gun boat, all viewable from the parade.

Cowes Classics Week comprises both traditional yacht racing on the water and social events ashore.

Metre boats, classic racing dayboats, classic yachts, old gaffers and spirit of tradition yachts, are all set to sail challenging courses in the Solent, between July 5 and 9.

The original intention was to hold the regatta at the end of July, but after reviewing the sailing calendar and seeing a slot available, the Royal London team felt the tides were more favourable for the earlier dates.

The introduction of classic cars is for one day only, as part of Cowes Classics Day.

Visitors can talk to the owners and enjoy the display.
