THE Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service was called to Newport this morning after reports of a car being on fire near Cineworld.
A team from Newport attended the scene on St George's Way Close at around 10.30am.
A small hatchback car was 50% destroyed by the fire, although the cause is yet to be confirmed.
A spokesperson for the Fire Service said: "We received a call to a car on fire at 10.30am.
"Nobody was injured during the incident, in which two breathing apparatus and one hose reel were used.
"We received a stop at 11.03am."
