MULTIPLE emergency service teams are responding to an incident in East Cowes tonight (Saturday).

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service says they were called to rescue an injured girl believed to have fallen from height.

Among a number of potential challenges in the area is a landslip at the end of the esplanade. An area of Spring Hill woods has been cordoned off for safety reasons.

They said she was difficult to retrieve due to her location, and fire crews from Newport and Ryde were tasked to assist the ambulance service.

Coastguard, ambulance, firefighters and police, among others, have all been called to the scene.

The air ambulance landed near York Avenue, and coastguard teams were spotted on the seafront.
