Despite the cloudy skies, Isle of Wight photographers have managed to capture today's partial solar eclipse in stunning photos.

The celestial event happened between around 10am and 12.30pm, but most areas of the Island had nothing but cloud.

On Twitter, Dawn told us she had just managed to get a glimpse through the grey.

Luckily, the Isle of Wight Met Service's Jamie, who runs Island Visions Photography, shared his images with the County Press.

Meanwhile, Peter Clark managed to take a fantastic photo from his Shanklin garden.
