A JUDGE warned an 86-year-old Cowes man it was "almost inevitable" he would face a custodial sentence after admitting child abuse offences.

Arthur Page, of Queens Road, appeared before the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Monday.

He admitted two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a teenage boy, in October last year.

His case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report by the probation service.

He will next appear in court on July 15 for sentencing.

He was granted conditional bail, and was immediately placed on the Sex Offenders' Register.
