MORE than 80 stalls have now been confirmed for Ventnor Day which takes place on Saturday, August 14 from noon to 5pm.

Voluntary and community groups will be represented alongside craft stalls.

This year’s Ventnor Day, which has been organised by the Ventnor Carnival Association and Ventnor Town Council, will include activities for all ages and an impromptu appearance from Ventnor Comedy Jazz Band.

Two stages will host a variety of performers at the putting green and bandstand in Ventnor park.

Featured acts include Moonshine Border Morris, Ventnor Theatre Group and Wight Variety, The Ventnor Darlings, The Hooleys, Olly Fry and Steve Love, with additional names to be announced closer to the time.

Ventnor Mayor, Stephen Cockett, said: "This is the first time Ventnor Day will take place in its new location at Ventnor Park.

"The event is an opportunity for our town to celebrate its amazing sense of community spirit and the contribution made by our voluntary and community groups.

"This year Ventnor Day will be bigger and better than ever."
