Hampshire Constabulary is investigating a fire at the former Stonehaven Care Home in Sandown yesterday (Sunday).
Fire fighters were called to the large, empty property on Carter Street after smoke was spotted coming from a window.
They dealt with a 'small fire in a bedroom' and were on the scene for around two hours.
Police officers were called by the fire service at around 5.30pm.
The force says its enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the fire, but it has confirmed it is being treated as arson.
