A MAN has been banned from driving after drunkenly crashing into two cars in Cowes.

Nicholas Steven Smith, 51, of Witan Gate, Milton Keynes, admitted drink driving on April 17, at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court.

Police announced the day after the incident that Smith had been arrested and charged after a collision on Newport Road involving a Honda Civic, a Volkswagen Polo, and a Kia Sportage.

The crash happened at around 10.30pm, and fire crews and police officers attended the scene.

Smith was disqualified from driving for 22 months.

He must also undertake a 12-month community order to include 60 hours of unpaid work. He was ordered to pay a surcharge of £95 and costs of £85.
