Newport's Travelodge.
POLICE and ambulance staff attended Newport's Travelodge on Lugley Street today after an incident of criminal damage.
An on-going incident saw several police officers as well as a team from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service in attendance.
Reports came in about armed police officers at the scene, but Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that was not the case.
A spokesperson said: "We were called at 12.30pm today (May 14) to a report of criminal damage in a room at the Travelodge Hotel on Lugley Street.
"Officers attended and a woman has been detained under the Mental Health Act."
