Few would probably disagree with Nick Wilde (CP 30-04-21) that there is a climate crisis.

But it’s doubtful if many would agree that onshore wind turbines add to the scenery.

It’s true, as Nick says, that ugly things have been done in the past — but this isn’t a good reason for continuing to do so.

Nick may not mind if his back garden was selected as an appropriate location but, apart from the visual impact, onshore turbines have other significant aspects that are detrimental to those ‘chosen’ to live near them.

And you don’t have to be well off or a NIMBY to not want them.

Offshore is the place for wind farms as is now generally recognised.
