THERE has been a further increase in the number of confirmed Isle of Wight Covid cases, according to the latest data.

Public Health England figures released today (Wednesday) reveal two new cases on the Island.

One new case was recorded yesterday, and two the day before.

The total number of Isle of Wight Covid cases, since the start of the pandemic, now stands at 6,824

In the seven days up to May 7, there were 9.2 cases per 100,000 people. Yesterday, there were 8.5.

The national rate is 21.6 .

People aged 38 and 39 will be invited to book their Covid vaccinations from tomorrow morning in England, according to NHS sources.

From Thursday (May 13), people aged 38 and 39 will be receiving texts from NHS England informing them that they are allowed to book an appointment, according to reports.
