BRADING High Street is the latest road to be closed this evening (Thursday) as a result of a burst water main.

The High Street will be closed from its junction with West Street to its junction with Quay Lane for a distance of 186 metres in a northerly direction for Southern Water to carry out emergency repairs.

In addition to the High Street, the diversion will affect Coach Lane, Rowborough Lane, Carpenters Road, Upper Green Road, Station Road, Embankment Road, Kings Road, Sherbourne Street, Foreland Road, Steyne Road, Sandown Road, Hillway Road, Bembridge Road and Marshcombe Shute.

Diversion routes will be signed at the time of closure. Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the road is closed.

The road will be closed from 7pm tonight, for a maximum period of five days or until the works are complete, whichever is sooner.

Earlier today we reported Southern Water having to make emergency repairs at two locations in East Cowes — both stories can be read by clicking the links below.
