Whippingham Road in East Cowes will be closed for Southern Water to complete emergency work on a burst water main.

Beatrice Avenue will be closed from its junction with Whippingham Road to its junction with Royal Church of St Mildred.

The diversion will affect Beatrice Avenue, Saunders Way, Whippingham Road with diversion routes signed at the time of closure.

The works are expected to be in place for a maximum of five days from today (Thursday).

Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the road is closed.

A separate water main also burst on Castle Street earlier today, leading to a temporary change to East Cowes' one-way system.
