THE Isle of Wight has recorded further Covid cases in the lastest Government update today (Friday).

Three new cases have been added to the Isle of Wight's overall total today.

It takes the number of cases this week (since Monday) to 12.

There have now been 6,803 positive coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The Island's rolling average of cases per 100,000 people, in the seven days to April 24, remains at 12.7.

Current figures do not include positive results from fast-result lateral flow tests, if they were not subsequently confirmed by a PCR test.

People aged 40 and over have today been invited to book their coronavirus jabs as the Prime Minister faced further calls to launch an inquiry into the handling of the pandemic.
