THE Floating Bridge is out of service this morning (Friday) — this time with an issue on the north east ram.
A replacement foot passenger service has been in place since 10am.
The Isle of Wight Council says an issue has been found with a split weld on the northeast ram.
A council spokesperson said the temporary service will be in place until the repairs are carried out but it is thought the Floating Bridge will return to action later today.
The spokesperson apologised for any inconvenience caused.
Floating Bridge 6 has been plagued with problems since it was installed on the River Medina in 2017 and the council are currently in the process of taking legal action against contractors who designed and built the vessel.
WATCH repairs being carried out this morning.
UPDATE, 4:50pm: The Isle of Wight Council has confirmed the Floating Bridge service has resumed.
