Five year groups from Ryde School have been learning from home, after confirmed Covid-19 cases.

Families with children in reception, and Years 3 to 6, have been staying away from school, and pupils and associated staff members have been self-isolating.

Their isolation period finishes on Sunday after parents were notifed earlier this month (April).

In a letter to parents, after two cases were confirmed, Ryde School says widespread testing, including all Senior School pupils and staff, had found no further cases.

Children in its nursery, Years 1 and 2 and senior school students have been attending lessons as normal and the school has remained open, while others have been learning remotely.

Social distancing and bubbles, to prevent one year group from coming into contact with another, have been in place.

Headteacher Mark Waldron said: "We are closely monitoring the current situation with PHE.

"We will continue to implement daily temperature and symptom checks on all staff and pupils in school, all of whom have been provided with lateral flow test devices."
