A COUPLE who spent the past three years travelling around New Zealand and Australia have returned to the Isle of Wight to open boutique confectionery shop, All Things Sweet, in Ryde High Street.

Olivia Fielder was born on the Island and left in 2017 in search of adventure, meeting partner Harry Winchcombe shortly before heading 'Down Under'.

The idea to run a confectionery store was first inspired by Olivia's time working in a fudge shop in New Zealand.

She said: "We saved money from our jobs in Sydney and literally put our life savings into getting the business up and running – we knew it was what we wanted to do.

"I worked as a sleep therapist for a corporate company and Harry was a carpenter full-time so it’s a big change for us.

"We hope the shop is successful and so far it’s been really busy which we’re so happy about."

The couple began renovating the shop in December, with Harry's background in carpentry proving vital as the entire site needing an overhaul including walls being ripped out, and new plumbing.

The shop is open daily from 10am to 5pm and has a website which gives a little backstory and shows the range of products on offer.

All Things Sweet also offers a variety of gluten free and vegan options.
