I would be so very grateful if you would consider starting a campaign to ban fishing from popular beaches on the Island.

I have found many hooks and lines of all shapes and sizes on the beaches of Shanklin, Sandown and Yaverland.

These are places where not only adults but children and dogs run around.

A very good friend of mine lost her dog as he swallowed a bunch of hooks enveloping bait.

It would be interesting to ask Island vets how many cases of injury to dogs have happened as a result of fish hooks.

Fishermen should go find a remote place for their hobby or go out in fishing boats.

My picture shows this horrendous lethal equipment that I found while walking on Yaverland beach, where there were several fishermen with their tents.

There were also lots of families with children and dogs.
