AN EXTENSIVE police search for a missing woman on the Isle of Wight last night (Friday) ended on a positive note.
The Isle of Wight Police was called out at 6.15pm following a report of a missing person.
Several police units were involved and Wight Search and Rescue also joined in the operation from 7.25pm to hunt for the wherabouts of a woman in her 50s, from Ryde, in the Pondwell area, near the town.
The National Police Air Service helicopter from Bournemouth was also scrambled to assist officers on the ground.
The woman was eventually found, in Ryde, at 9.50pm.
