The parking rules have placed another nail in the coffin for elderly residents.
Why do all organisations assume everyone has a smartphone?
We in St Lawrence haven’t even got a mobile phone signal so a smartphone is useless.
Fifteen years ago we could buy a parking permit for £75.
This gave pensioners the freedom to park anywhere on the Island and spend money in cafes and shops, benefitting business.
Now we go nowhere even when lockdown ends.
At £1.70 per hour, how many of us are going out for the day.
Now we are facing the prospect of vaccine passports, on smartphones of course .
How will the pensioners without them be able to fly or go into a pub?
