POLICE have arrested a man this afternoon (Thursday) following reports of a robbery at Brighstone Village Store.
Officers were called to the location on Main Road at 12.29pm after a man entered the store and threatened a staff member before fleeing the scene with stolen goods.
A 38-year-old man from East Cowes was arrested on suspicion of robbery. He remains in custody at this time.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire Constabulary said: "We can confirm that officers were called out to an incident at 12.29pm this afternoon following reports of a robbery at Brighstone Village Store.
"A man entered the store and threatened a staff member before fleeing the scene with a set of scales – which were later recovered.
"No one was injured."
